Oh, hey there flood plain creeping in slowly underneath a burning sunset sky, I was unfamiliar with your game. What a contrast this evening. First, I was caught unawares by the salt marsh’s water level being up. As I was driving out Dock Road, puzzled a bit, then I remembered something about a low pressure off shore, or did I? Then, a bit unsure by the tight bottleneck as the tide was still coming in, I wasn’t exactly sure where to park. Once I had all that sorted it was a matter of making frames. The sky, the water, and the land, a cacophony of color, sound, and blurred boundaries.
Many layers powered this evening. Chief among the driving influences fuel injecting my energy and creativity, is all the energy I have been pouring into this website the past four weeks. Dozens of hours on the front and back end that have seen me curate and publish two new full features, NJ Landscapes and Cedar Run Dock Road, optimize my photo file sizes for better mobile viewing, SEO tweaks, work on the SmugMug shop, a new shop page explaining all the options available at said SmugMug shop, with much more to come.
Toss a perfect late day cloud setup paired with the unexpected bounty of a flooded salt marsh; mix that with a brand new camera phone, making it easy to get as fired up as the sky. And so back and forth and round and round I went. Alternating photos made with Canon and tripod and the photos and videos I was making with my new phone.
And I have to say, the results are remarkable. To the point that I have a work stream mapped out to begin incorporating photos and videos from the field. This will bring some beneficial immediacy to the online experience I am curating here.
